Karl joined Tanner De Witt’s criminal litigation practice in 2020. Before joining the firm, Karl worked as a barrister, appearing and advising in a broad range of criminal matters involving assault, driving, immigration, sexual, theft and fraud offences. He has also assisted as a Judicial Associate to the criminal division at the Court of Appeal from 2015 to 2019.
Before starting his career, Karl obtained a Bachelor degree in Marketing Management in Nottingham, then furthered his academic qualifications with a Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in Hong Kong. Born in Hong Kong, he is fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
Karl has robust and comprehensive experience in advising and handling criminal trials, various applications for criminal matters, and urgent legal support at law enforcement bodies.
Another part of Karl’s professional practice involves appearances in civil litigation predominantly in personal injuries, matrimonial, commercial and landlord and tenant matters. Karl is also a CEDR accredited mediator.
