Shirley originally comes from Harbin, Northeast China. After attaining top marks in China’s National Entrance Exam, she was admitted by the University of Hong Kong where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL). Before joining Tanner De Witt in 2019, she worked with a boutique Hong Kong law firm and gained much experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. Shirley has advised clients from various business sectors ranging from start-up companies to state owned enterprises and multinational corporations.
Shirley qualified as a Hong Kong solicitor in January 2018. In addition, she passed China’s National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination (formerly known as the National Judicial Exam) in 2018. Shirley speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She can read and write traditional and simplified Chinese.
Recent cases include assisting in obtaining proprietary injunction and mareva injunction in aid of an HKIAC administered arbitration, assisting a listed company in settlement with creditor in compulsory winding up proceedings, advising liquidators in relation to director’s guarantee and liabilities and advising a bank as regards to its position in event of the winding up of debtor companies.
