Hong Kong law firm Tanner De Witt is delighted to announce that it is retaining 100% of its trainees who are due to qualify in 2020, after all three trainees have accepted solicitor positions with the firm.

The trainees joining Tanner De Witt as associates are:

  • Josephine Zhou
  • Ling Meng
  • Raymond Ko

Josephine received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hong Kong. She will join our Insolvency and Restructuring department.

Ling, who is joining our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, obtained a BA in Sociology from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou before moving to California to pursue an MA in Museum Studies at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Raymond received a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He is taking up a joint role working in both our Employment and our Corporate Commercial departments.

All three trainees obtained their Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) from the University of Hong Kong.

Tanner De Witt’s training programme is composed of four six-month seats. Trainees have the opportunity to gain experience in contentious and non-contentious work in four of five core practice areas: Corporate and Commercial, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Restructuring, Employment, and Family and Private Client.

Established since 1999, the training programme demonstrates the firm’s dedication to developing the careers of its associates. Sunny Hathiramani, who joined Tanner De Witt as a trainee, was promoted last year to Partner. The firm takes on three to four trainees a year; this year they are Austin Leung, Jamie Choy, Jeeby Au and Samantha Chan.
