As an independent Hong Kong law firm, we greatly value our local community and dedicate our time, expertise and resources in supporting Hong Kong and its people.

Over the years we have been heavily involved in our local community, supporting many charitable organisations, as well as sponsoring community, youth and sports teams and other initiatives and events. Our corporate social responsibility programme and pro bono efforts reflect who we are as a modern, caring firm that believes in giving back and making a difference together.

Corporate social responsibility

We participate in and support a number of CSR initiatives throughout the year with enthusiastic participation from all members of staff. Past initiatives have included supporting youth, low-income groups, ethnic minorities, the non-able bodied, and the underprivileged. For many years, we have proudly sponsored the Hong Kong Rugby Referees Society and one of Hong Kong’s largest youth football programmes, as well as other sporting events. Our support extends internationally, promoting life skills through rugby with the Laos Rugby Federation and in the Philippines. We are passionate about our annual sponsorship and participation in the Weez Walk with KELY Support Group, empowering vulnerable youth by promoting positive mental health, preventing suicide and substance abuse. We also regularly participate in the Hong Kong Legal Walk, host events for The Women’s Foundation and Pathfinders, and have served as mentors for Dream2Story’s The Foundry incubator program, empowering the next generation. We support environmental initiatives for example safeguarding Hong Kong’s coastline with beach cleanups and education with A Plastic Ocean Foundation and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, we proudly launched and co-hosted the inaugural MFDR Family Mediation Competition for future lawyers.

Pro-Bono legal advice and collaborations

We regularly receive Pro Bono and Community Work awards from the Law Society of Hong Kong reflecting our deep commitment to promote access to justice wherever we can. A number of the firm’s lawyers regularly volunteer to assist those otherwise unable to access legal services, with a focus on human rights, providing advice and representation across issues including housing rights, employment disputes, immigration matters, family disputes, domestic violence, and children’s rights. Key partnerships include our commitment to PathFinders, empowering vulnerable migrant mothers and children through pro bono counsel, fundraising for prenatal care/shelter/education, and volunteer engagement. We partnered with Equal Justice to build a pro bono website connecting charities/NGOs with those in need, and assist migrant domestic workers through Help for Domestic Workers. We were among the first firms to join the CLIX digital platform, connecting pro bono lawyers with community impact organisations.
