Biography
Samantha is an Associate in our Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. She qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in December 2022. She has advised clients in matters relating to insolvency, commercial litigation, and arbitration, such as debt recovery and contractual disputes involving complex cross-border issues. She has also acted for clients in applying for and defending various court applications in high-stake claims, such as applications for injunctions and summary judgments.
Samantha joined us as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2020 after completing her Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to reading law, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English at The University of Hong Kong.
Samantha is a native Cantonese speaker, and fluent in English and Mandarin.

- Acting for and advising the liquidators (Alvarez & Marsal) of China Evergrande Group on various aspects of the liquidation, including recovery and realisation of assets of the estate and the formation and composition of any committee of inspection.
- Acting for and advising the provisional liquidators (Grant Thornton) of Global Cord Blood Corporation, a company previously listed on the NYSE, in the preservation and recovery of books records and assets in Hong Kong, including an application for an injunction preventing further mismanagement of the group companies by directors.
- Acted for BVI and Cayman appointed liquidators (Quantuma, Kroll) in successful applications for recognition and assistance in Hong Kong, including for an order for production of documents by third parties.
- Acted for Cayman appointed receivers (Perun) over a segregated portfolio and obtained summary judgment against an international bank for the return of funds held in a bank account belonging to the portfolio.
- Advised the interim judicial managers (EY) to a cryptocurrency lending and borrowing platform appointed by the Singapore High Court in various matters such as gaining control over assets in Hong Kong and application for recognition and assistance in Hong Kong.
- Acted for an offshore investment advisory company with businesses in the PRC in a multimillion-dollar claim against an investment management company in an HKIAC arbitration and various related litigation proceedings in the Hong Kong courts.
- Assisted provisional liquidators (PwC) in the application to the Hong Kong court for the sanction of the scheme of arrangement of Burwill Holdings Limited and applications to the SEHK (the Listing Division and the Listing Review Committee) in relation to the delisting of its securities.
- Advised and assisted a high-net-worth individual in defending Mareva injunction applications in multiple jurisdictions including Hong Kong, New York, England, Jersey and Singapore.

Jane is an Associate in our Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. She assists on various matters including cross-border liquidation, commercial disputes, and debt recovery.
Jane worked on a wide range of matters including cross-border liquidation, commercial fraud, shareholders disputes, arbitration, matrimonial proceedings for high-net value individuals, and a variety of commercial transactions.
Jane completed her JD at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Engineering in Criminal Science and Technology at The Criminal Investigation Police University of China and completed a summer English programme at The University of Southern California. She also has completed internships at several law firms in Hong Kong and China and in-house at an investment company in Hong Kong.
Jane is a native Mandarin speaker, and fluent in English and Cantonese.

Stephanie is an associate in our Corporate and Commercial and TMT Practice. She has assisted and advised on a wide range of TMT matters and documents such as data privacy, governance, and management. She has also assisted and advised on venture capital and corporate transactions. She also assists on wills and probate matters.
She earned her PCLL and Juris Doctor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master of Arts at King’s College London and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics and Public Administration at The University of Hong Kong.

Jacqueline is an Associate in our Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. Jacqueline’s practice focuses on complex insolvency matters and commercial litigation, such as shareholder disputes and debt recovery. She has also acted for clients in applying for and defending various court applications, such as applications for injunctions and disclosure orders.
Jacqueline joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in 2022 and was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2024. She completed her Bachelor of Laws and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Jacqueline is a native Cantonese and English speaker and fluent in Mandarin.

Jack is an associate in our Corporate and Commercial Practice. Jack assisted in including commercial litigation, insolvency, employment, asset recovery, intellectual property, and digital asset related disputes. Jack is involved in a variety of cases assisting individuals and corporate clients.
Prior to joining us, Jack completed internships at an international firm in Hong Kong and an in-house legal team at an asset management company. In his previous career before law, he also had experience in open innovation in Hong Kong and management consulting in Singapore. Supervised by experienced professionals, Jack has been involved in business development, business operations, market analysis, digital transformation, corporate governance, legal research, and legal analysis.
Jack completed his JD and PCLL at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. During his law school studies, he participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition representing CUHK where his team won the 2022 Hong Kong Regional Grand Finals and reached the Advance Rounds achieving an overall ranking within the top 40 universities in the world.

Michelle is an associate in our Restructuring & Insolvency, and Dispute Resolution Practices. She has assisted in matters involving a wide range of areas including breach of contract, commercial fraud, indecent assault, protection of mentally incapacitated persons, SFC investigations, insolvency, divorce, wardship and Hague proceedings.
Prior to joining our firm, Michelle completed internships at several international law firms and mini-pupillages at chambers in Hong Kong.
Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Laws and Social Sciences (Government and Laws), and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from The University of Hong Kong. She has also been an academic exchange student at Sciences Po (Paris). She was awarded the 1972 Law Graduates Scholarship in 2021 which recognised her academic merits.
Outside of work, she is passionate about youth development. She has volunteered at AIESEC, an international youth-run organisation, to promote cultural understanding, global citizenship, and sustainability. Her diverse leadership experience was recognised by the MacCall MacBain Scholarship. She was selected as a finalist out of thousands of international applications in 2023.

Vanessa is an associate in our Restructuring & Insolvency, and Dispute Resolution Practices. Prior to joining us, Vanessa had worked as a paralegal at law firms in Hong Kong where she worked on criminal matters as well as general civil litigation.
She completed her PCLL with distinctions and LLB with first-class honours at the University of Hong Kong. She is a native Cantonese speaker and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
