Tanner De Witt’s family lawyers attend HKFLA talk on surrogacy and legal parenthood

23Jul2020

On 20 July 2020, members of Tanner De Witt’s Family Law Department attended a talk on ‘Surrogacy and Legal Parenthood: Latest Developments in Hong Kong’ organised by the Hong Kong Family Law Association (“HKFLA”).  The members’ talk was presented by Mr. Hectar Pun SC and hosted on Zoom by Denis Chang’s Chambers.

Participants in the talk enjoyed an insightful discussion on the current legislative landscape on surrogacy arrangements and parental orders in Hong Kong, as well as recent court decisions in Hong Kong and in England and Wales.  The evening concluded with a Q&A session where members exchanged their views on unsettled points of law awaiting to be tested or clarified by the Hong Kong courts.

Partner Joanne Brown sits on the HKFLA Executive Committee 2019/20.
