Nicole Poon

Biography

Nicole is an Associate in our Employment Practice. She is involved in a broad range of employment work including advising employers and employees on various employment law matters regarding recruitment, employees’ rights, termination, post-termination restrictions and harassment. Nicole has experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Nicole also has experience in commercial litigation involving international and cross-border contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, debt recovery and fraud cases, dealing also with injunction and disclosure applications.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Laws from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom in 2019, Nicole obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) from the City University of Hong Kong in 2020.

Nicole is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Biography

• Advised an international accounting firm in respect of a potential sexual harassment claim.
• Advised an employee of a multinational telecommunications company regarding his right to discretionary bonus.
• Assisted in drafting, reviewing and advising on employment contracts, employee handbooks and employment policies. Advised on terminations and redundancies of employees.
• Assisted and advised a Chinese state-owned enterprise in a precious metal fraud case involving over US$15 million.
•  Assisted and advised a major investment bank in an HKIAC arbitration involving share-redemption disputes over US$150 million.
• Assisted and advised companies in debt recovery proceedings.
