Jan082015

Hong Kong law firm Tanner De Witt is delighted to announce that Jeff Lane has joined as Partner effective 1 January 2015.

Jeff joined Tanner De Witt in January 2014 as a Consultant specialising in Commercial Litigation. The Fraud and Asset Tracing practice is a particular focus for Jeff, where he works closely with Restructuring and Insolvency Partners Ian De Witt and Robin Darton, and Litigation Partners Mark Side and Pamela Mak. Jeff’s appointment to partnership serves as part of Tanner De Witt’s response to the recent increase in online money laundering and fraud.

“Jeff has been a terrific addition to the Tanner De Witt team. From day one his knowledge, experience and critical thinking has helped our Fraud and Asset tracing practice go from strength to strength,” said Mark Side.

“On top of that, his infectious enthusiasm makes him a delight to work with – we are thrilled to welcome Jeff as Partner” he added.

Jeff specialises in corporate fraud and asset tracing, with particular expertise in carrying out complex multi-jurisdictional investigations. He has significant experience of inquiries by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC), Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB). Jeff regularly deals with Market Misconduct Tribunal matters; fraud investigations; large scale multi-jurisdiction fraud and tracing actions and domestic fraud.

Jeff is recognised as a leading lawyer in Hong Kong by a number of respected international legal directories, including Asia Pacific Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners Global. He is the Hong Kong representative of FraudNet, the International Chamber of Commerce’s network of fraud litigation specialists. Jeff is a regular contributor to industry journals.

Jeff has served as a member of the Civil Justice Reform, Anti-Money Laundering, Civil Litigation and Employment Law committees for The Law Society of Hong Kong.
