Tanner De Witt wins 2017 Pro Bono Law Firm Bronze Award2011月2017
We are pleased to announce that we have won a Bronze Award for our pro bono work in this year’s Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme.
The award recognises a local or international law firm that has made an outstanding contribution in the provision of pro bono services. We take our pro bono work seriously; we believe in donating time and resources for local causes. We are deeply honoured to receive this recognition from The Law Society of Hong Kong.
In order to win the Bronze Award, the law firm must achieve no less than 10 scores which is calculated thus: half the scores come from the average number of pro bono hours per lawyer of a law firm in the award period (2016 – 2017), while the other half represent the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 10 hours of pro bono work.
In addition to our firm-wide award, our lawyers have also won individual awards for their work: Partner Joanne Brown, Consultant Philip Swainston and Solicitor Rowan Varty have received Individual Silver Awards, while Solicitor Winnie Wat has received an Individual Gold Award.
We are very proud of this achievement and look forward to participating in next year’s programme.
About the Programme
The Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme 2017 is a method for The Law Society of Hong Kong to encourage law firms and members to carry out pro bono and community focused work; it was set up in January 2010. All members, trainee solicitors and registered foreign lawyers who are active in giving back are given the opportunity to present their service so they can be recognised and their work appreciated.
