At that point the statutory holiday list will fully align with the 17 general holidays. The timetable is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-32462\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tannerdewitt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773023182836-300x94.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tannerdewitt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773023182836-300x94.png 300w, https:\/\/www.tannerdewitt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1773023182836.png 499w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"ember2349\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Employers should also note that section 39(4) of the EO where a statutory holiday falls on a nominated weekly \u201crest day\u201d (which is often a Sunday for many, but not for all), the employee must be granted an additional days leave on the next day that is not already a holiday.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember2350\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">In 2026, Ching Ming Festival (a statutory holiday) falls on Sunday, 5 April. \u00a0For most employees, this will coincide with their designated weekly rest day, which means that the statutory holiday for Ching Ming would be taken on Monday, 6 April as per section 39(4).
