Naveen joined Tanner De Witt as a trainee solicitor in September 2007 after completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at Hong Kong University. She completed her LLB degree at University College London.
Naveen completed her training in August 2009 and qualified into Tanner De Witt's Employment department in December 2009. She focuses on employment and litigation matters.
Naveen has assisted employers and employees on with both contentious and non-contentious employment matters including:
- drafting and advising on employment contracts and handbooks;
- termination disputes and entitlements (and settlement of these disputes);
- advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants and post-termination restrictions; and
- entitlements to discretionary bonuses and end of year payments.
Naveen speaks Urdu.
- Assisting the employer in proceedings against a team of departing employees where a springboard injunction had been obtained: Slik Hong Kong Ltd v Gerald Merlyn Rhoslyn Evans et al.
- Assisting in litigation for shareholders of a group of related companies in defending s168A petitions.
- Acting on behalf of senior employee in a mediation between the employee and a major hedge fund employer in a dispute as to discretionary bonus entitlements and entitlements under a long-term incentive plan.
