Jonathan joined Tanner De Witt in 2009, prior to which he worked at the Hong Kong office of a well-known international firm. His main areas of practice are general commercial litigation and arbitration, including professional liability, insurance, contentious employment and judicial review matters.
Jonathan speaks Mandarin, having studied the language at both Harbin Institute of Technology and the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing.

- Advising shareholders in a dispute with the management of a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, including obtaining an injunction preventing a placement of shares by the company.
- Advising insurers in relation to a claim worth approximately US$24,000,000 arising from damage to undersea cables.
- Advising auditors in relation to an audit negligence claim worth approximately US$12,000,000.
- Advising a leading electronic-goods manufacturer in the PRC in arbitration proceedings under Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Rules, relating to a failed joint venture agreement with a Middle Eastern distributor. The claim, which was worth approximately US$10,000,000, raised a number of complex issues of law, including agency and conflict of laws, involving a number of jurisdictions including the PRC, Sweden and several Middle Eastern jurisdictions.
- Advising consultant engineers in arbitration proceedings under the Government of Hong Kong's Lands & Works Branch Model Arbitration Rules, involving a professional liability claim worth approximately US$25,000,000.
